From Files to Future, An Effort for Digitized Justice System
Who Am I?
My name is Muhammad Yaseen, and I proudly serve as an Ahlmad in Sessions Division Khanewal, District Judiciary Punjab, With years of hands-on experience in managing and organizing court records, CMS software, and performing other tasks of judicial work, I’ve witnessed firsthand the strengths and limitations of our current judicial processes. This position has given me a unique lens into the day-to-day functioning of the courts and the immense potential we have to improve how justice is delivered—if we embrace the right tools.
Why This Blog?
We are living in a time when technology is reshaping the world, yet our courts still rely heavily on traditional, manual methods. I believe it's time to bridge that gap. This blog—CourtAI—is my humble attempt to create awareness, offer guidance, and share insights on how Artificial Intelligence and digital tools can revolutionize our courtrooms.
I also draw inspiration from recent speeches and initiatives by Hon'ble Judges of the Supreme Court and Hon'ble Chief Justices of our higher judiciary, who have shown a clear vision and interest in the digitization of the judiciary and the professional, careful, and effective use of AI in the justice sector. Their leadership is motivating and guiding this grassroots initiative.
My goal is to create tools and content that guides:
- Honorable Judges with tools that reduce workload.
- Advocates with AI research aids and faster drafting support and posting crux of recent judgments.
- Court Staff with digital workflows that reduce delays and errors.
- The Public with better access to timely justice.
What I Stand For
- Efficient Justice: By reducing procedural delays through automation and smart tools.
- Digital Transformation: From Robkar systems to intelligent document handling—paperless courts are not a dream anymore.
- Accessible Learning: Most of our court staff and even legal professionals are unfamiliar with AI. I aim to make it simple, in plain language—often in Urdu, for easier understanding.
- Collaborative Growth: I will be fortunate to work with forward-thinking judicial officers if they are interested in the idea and their support and mentorship will keep this initiative grounded and growing.
The Road Ahead
This blog will feature:
- Beginner’s Guides to AI tools,
- Real-life examples of digital success in courts and how my tools were effective enough to revolutionize the processes.
- Video explainers and WhatsApp posts for court staff
- Research and Articles co-authored with like-minded individuals
- And most importantly, a community of people who want to bring smart, positive change to our justice system
I am not a tech expert—I am a learner, just like you. But I strongly believe that even the smallest change, when powered by the right intent and knowledge, can make a big difference. Let’s take this journey together.
